Capacity Building on Climate Change for Vietnamese Civil Society Organizations

The book “Training of Trainer on Climate Change” was just introduced in Hanoi on March 23, 2011. This is an activity of the project “Capacity Building on Climate Change for Vietnamese Civil Society Organizations” financed by the Finnish Embassy’s Fund for Local Cooperation and implemented by the Centre for Sustainable Rural Development.

This 300 page material has been carefully compiled by a group of experienced experts led by Prof. Dr. Truong Quang Hoc. Consisting of 5 parts including Background of Climate Change, Adaptation, Mitigation, Cross-cutting Themes and Communication, the book is an efficient tool to support the training of core trainers in this important issue.

In the preface, Ambassador Pekka Hyvönen appreciates the publication of the book saying that it will contribute to the improvement of public awareness and human resource development to respond to climate change adaptation and mitigation as well as integrate this task into relevant existing and future programs for the long-term sustainable development in Vietnam.
